Last Friday, Pete took the afternoon off for us to celebrate our ten year anniversary, six months late. A HUGE thanks to tagteam babysitters Sarah and Caleb.
Happy 10.5 years (better late than never)!! It was a gorgeous day after the previous day’s tornado watch.
Massages at Om Chakra (thank you, groupon) // Long line at Frederick City Hall to view original manuscript of the Star Spangled Banner (yes, I forfeited most of my shopping time to see it)
Scotch flights and short ribs at The Wine Kitchen on the Creek. “Date Night” has new meaning after you have kids to take a break from! The Father’s Day Prix Fixe menu was AMAZING. I have to get out more.
By the Trompe l’oeil bridge mural (the concrete is painted to look like bricks, etc) // We won’t try out for “So You Think You Can Dance.” Promise.
Things carry on as usual while we are away–vying for the same space, mischevious looks all around.
My own Father’s Day Prix Fixe menu consisted of: Lettuce from our garden with strawberries and homemade honeyed shallot vinaigrette, Bacon-wrapped Pork Tenderloin “Filet Mignons” (thanks to Sarah for braving the hot oil and searing them for me), Bowtie pasta with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil sauce (a la Caleb), homemade Blackberry Cobbler, and local Raspberry Dessert Wine. Looks like it got Timmy’s applause!!
