I made a spherical (sugarless carrot) cake for TNT’s 2nd birthday. It turned out to be really small, so I decided to make a chocolate sheet cake using a football-shaped pan from a friend. And then another spherical cake to make it look symmetrical (that one was half chocolate and half Ivy’s sugarless banana bread recipe). I used a crusting cream cheese buttercream frosting.
Jenny piped all the frosting! Maybe I’ll learn how to do that for next year’s party. Doing fondant on a sphere was rather difficult beyond the halfway point (since it folds back on itself).
